Plain English

What "black car service" actually means on Long Island

A black car service is a pre-arranged, chauffeured ride in a black luxury sedan or SUV. It is not a taxi you hail, not a rideshare you hope shows up, and not a stretch limousine. The car is reserved for you, the driver is a professional chauffeur who does this full time, and the price is fixed when you book.

On Long Island that distinction matters more than it does in the city. There is no yellow cab on the corner in Dix Hills at 4:30am. Rideshare coverage in Suffolk thins out early and surges when a flight bank lands. A black car is booked the night before, the chauffeur confirms, and the car is in the driveway before the alarm goes off.

Infinite Car Service has been the black car for Nassau and Suffolk families and businesses since 2005. Rafi still manages dispatch personally. Every chauffeur is vetted, background checked and trained on the terminal layouts at JFK, LaGuardia and Newark.

Times are typical door-to-door ranges outside of severe weather or incident closures. Airport rates from Long Island start at $115 to LaGuardia and $125 to JFK depending on pickup town. Every quote is fixed before pickup and includes the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel and tolls. Gratuity is included on hourly bookings and added at a standard 20% on point-to-point trips, so there is nothing to work out at the curb.

Questions

Black Car Service, Answered

What is the difference between a black car service and a limo service?

A black car service uses executive sedans and SUVs, usually black, with a professional chauffeur for point-to-point or hourly trips. A limo service is typically built around stretch limousines for proms and weddings. We run black cars: Cadillac Escalades, Chevrolet Suburbans and luxury sedans. If you need more than six seats, we run Mercedes Sprinter vans rather than stretch limos.

How much does a black car service cost on Long Island?

Airport transfers start around $115 to LaGuardia and $125 to JFK from western Nassau, and roughly $135 to $155 from central Suffolk towns like Dix Hills, Melville and Syosset. Newark runs $195 to $265 depending on pickup town. Hourly chauffeur service is $130 per hour with a three-hour minimum, gratuity included. Every price is fixed when you book and never surges.

Is a black car service worth it compared to Uber Black?

For an early flight or an important meeting, yes. Uber Black depends on a driver being nearby at that moment and the price moves with demand. A black car service is a reservation: the chauffeur is assigned the night before, confirms by text, tracks your flight, and the price you were quoted is the price you pay. Most of our Long Island clients switched after one missed or surged rideshare at 5am.

Do you meet inside the terminal at JFK and LaGuardia?

Yes. On arrivals we offer inside-terminal meet and greet: the chauffeur is at baggage claim with a name sign and walks you to the car. For curbside pickups we use the official for-hire vehicle areas at each terminal, such as the K1 area on Level 2 of the Terminal B garage at LaGuardia. Your chauffeur texts the exact meeting point before you land.

How far in advance should I book a black car on Long Island?

Same-day is often possible, but for early morning airport runs, holiday weekends and Hamptons Fridays we recommend booking at least 24 hours ahead. Corporate accounts can set up standing reservations. You will receive a confirmation when you book and a chauffeur text before pickup.

Can I book a black car by the hour instead of point to point?

Yes. Hourly black car service is $130 per hour with a three-hour minimum, with a dedicated chauffeur who stays with you for multi-stop days in Manhattan, wine tours on the North Fork, or a full day of client meetings. It is the right way to book anything with more than two stops.

Do you provide car seats?

Yes. Infant, toddler and booster seats are available on request and installed before pickup. Let us know the ages when you book.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Infinite Car Service is a fully licensed and commercially insured for-hire vehicle operator based in Dix Hills, New York, in business since 2005. All chauffeurs are vetted and background checked.
