Barry Manilow at UBS Arena June 27: Car Service for His Last Long Island Concert
Barry Manilow plays UBS Arena in Elmont on Saturday, June 27, 2026, and this one is billed as his last Long Island concert, ever. If you have tickets, booking a car service for the night is the difference between walking straight out after the encore and spending 40 minutes finding your row in the garage. Here's the honest breakdown of getting there, getting home, and why this particular show is the wrong one to drive yourself.
The Show
MANILOW: The Last Long Island Concert
- Date: Saturday, June 27, 2026
- Venue: UBS Arena, Belmont Park, Elmont, NY 11003
- Show time: 7:00 PM
This date was rescheduled from the original April 13 show, so it now lands on a Saturday night in late June. That matters for the drive, and we'll get to why.
The show is part of Manilow's 2026 "The Last Concerts" farewell run. This is the last time he plays Long Island, and his Long Island fanbase knows it. That "last ever" framing is not marketing fluff for this crowd. It's a real demand signal, and it's why the building will be full.
UBS Arena opened in 2021 at Belmont Park, holds roughly 17,000, and is the home of the New York Islanders. It's a well-designed building with strong sightlines. The problem on a sellout night was never the arena. It's everything that happens in the parking garage and on the Cross Island Parkway after the lights come up.
Who's Coming to This One
A Manilow farewell show draws a specific crowd. Couples who have been seeing him for 40 years. Friends making a night of it. People who dress up for a concert because that's how you treat an evening that matters. This is not the crowd that wants to walk a dark garage in good shoes, hunt for a car, and then sit in a line of brake lights for half an hour while the night they planned for months turns into a parking-lot story.
It's also, frankly, the crowd most likely to have a designated-driver problem. Somebody at the table doesn't get to fully relax because they're driving home at 10:30 on the Cross Island. On a last-ever night, nobody should have to draw that short straw.
What the Drive Looks Like on a June Saturday
UBS Arena sits at Belmont Park, right on the Queens and Nassau border, off the Cross Island Parkway and Hempstead Turnpike. Getting there is rarely the hard part. The hard part is the combination of a late-June Saturday and a sold-out arena letting out all at once.
Late June is when Long Island roads carry extra weekend load. Hamptons-bound traffic, beach traffic, and Saturday-night dinner crowds are already on the parkways. Layer 17,000 Manilow fans leaving Belmont at the same moment and you get:
- Inbound: Cross Island Parkway and Hempstead Turnpike thickening from 5 PM on as the lots fill
- Parking: Prepaid, limited on-site parking that sells through for a sellout, with a slow garage if you don't pre-book
- Post-show: Thousands of cars funneling out of the same garage onto the same two roads at the same time
The 10 PM crawl out of the Belmont garage on a sold-out Saturday is the part people underestimate. It can take 30 to 45 minutes just to reach the Cross Island.
Roughly How Far Out You Are
For most of Long Island, this is a short ride that turns into a long night only because of the parking and the exit. Here's the realistic picture.
From Nassau County
If you're coming from central Nassau, places like Garden City, East Meadow, Mineola, Hicksville, and Westbury, you're 15 to 25 minutes from UBS Arena on a clear run. Towns like Garden City and East Meadow are practically next door to Belmont. The drive in is nothing. The drive out, through the garage and onto the Cross Island, is where a Saturday night gets eaten up.
From Western Suffolk
From Huntington, Commack, Dix Hills, Melville, or Deer Park, figure 35 to 50 minutes via the LIE or the Northern State Parkway. On a clear weekend evening that's manageable. After the show, when you add the garage egress to the parkway, you're looking at well past midnight before you're back in your driveway if you drove yourself.
How a Car Service Handles This Differently
We've run concerts at UBS Arena since it opened, and we know the building the way Islanders fans know it on a game night.
Getting there: We pick you up at your door and drop you at the arena entrance. No prepaid parking to remember, no garage level to memorize, no walk across the lot. You arrive at the door and walk in.
Getting home: We watch the show's running time and stage for pickup before the crowd starts moving. When you text that you're heading out after the encore, your driver is already there or a few minutes away. We come out the way that avoids sitting behind the bulk of the garage traffic on the Cross Island, rather than crawling along Hempstead Turnpike with everyone else.
The rate is fixed when you book. No Saturday-night rideshare surge, no post-concert spike when 17,000 people open their apps at the same second. You know the number before you leave the house, and nobody at your table is the designated driver.
The Specifics for June 27
Show time: 7:00 PM, UBS Arena, Belmont Park, Elmont, NY
Parking: Prepaid and limited. It sells through for a sellout, and the garage empties slowly
Garage exit: Budget 30 to 45 minutes to clear the garage and reach the Cross Island Parkway after a sold-out show
From Nassau (Garden City, East Meadow, Hicksville): 15 to 25 minutes in, but the post-show exit is where the time goes
From Western Suffolk (Huntington, Commack, Melville): 35 to 50 minutes in via the LIE or Northern State, longer coming home through the garage
Rideshare surge window: roughly 9:45 PM to 11:30 PM, the peak surge and the longest pickup waits
