Best Things To Do on Long Island This Weekend — July 11–12, 2026

July 11, 2026Rafi

The Fourth is behind us and Long Island settles into the deep part of summer this weekend. You do not have to leave the island to find a full Saturday and Sunday. Weird Al brings his Bigger & Weirder tour to UBS Arena, the Empire State Fair is running at the Nassau Coliseum, the North Fork sunflower fields are open at Harbes, the Long Beach boardwalk turns into a 200-vendor art show, and out east there are fireworks over Three Mile Harbor. Everything below is happening right here, from Elmont to East Hampton. Here is what to plan around, with the parking and traffic reality for each.

"Weird Al" Yankovic at UBS Arena — Elmont

Saturday, July 11 | UBS Arena, Belmont Park, Elmont

"Weird Al" Yankovic brings his Bigger & Weirder 2026 tour to UBS Arena on Saturday night. It is a full-production show with the band, the costume changes, and four decades of material, and it pulls a wide, all-ages crowd from across Nassau, Suffolk, and Queens. An arena night at Belmont is exactly the kind of show where the room fills up fast and empties all at once.

UBS Arena parking is the story here. The lots at Belmont Park are prepaid and they fill early on a concert night, the approach off the Cross Island and the Hempstead Turnpike backs up before the doors open, and the exit after the encore is a slow crawl no matter which lot you land in. A drop right at the entrance means you walk straight in, and your driver is waiting at a set spot when the lights come up. For a family bringing kids to their first arena show, that beats paying to park in the back forty and then sitting in the exit line at eleven at night.

Empire State Fair at the Nassau Coliseum — Uniondale

Saturday, July 11 & Sunday, July 12 | Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Uniondale

The Empire State Fair is set up in the Coliseum lot in Uniondale this weekend, open both days with rides, midway games, a petting zoo, circus acts, and the food-on-a-stick lineup the fair is known for. It is the classic summer carnival, close to home, and it is an easy call for a family with kids who want a few hours of Ferris wheel and funnel cake.

The Coliseum sits right at the Meadowbrook and the Hempstead Turnpike, which is convenient until a fair weekend and a summer Saturday stack on top of each other. The lot handles the crowd, but the in-and-out at peak hours around the Meadowbrook interchange is where the time goes. If you are pairing the fair with dinner or making a day of it with a group, a drop at the gate takes the parking and the driving off the table, and nobody has to be the one navigating the Uniondale traffic on the way home.

Harbes Sunflower Festival — Mattituck, North Fork

Saturday, July 11 & Sunday, July 12, 9 AM–7 PM | Harbes Family Farm, 715 Sound Avenue, Mattituck

Out on the North Fork, the Harbes Sunflower Festival opens this weekend, with fields of sunflowers in full bloom, barnyard animals, bounce pillows, and free live music in the courtyard both days from 1 to 5 PM. It is one of the most photographed days on the East End, and it is genuinely built for families. It also happens to sit in the middle of the North Fork wine trail, so it pairs naturally with a tasting-room afternoon.

Sound Avenue and Route 25 through Mattituck get busy on a summer weekend, and the drive out to the North Fork is a long one from central Nassau. If you are making the sunflower fields the anchor of a day that also includes a couple of vineyards, this is the single best car service call we run all summer. Somebody has to drive between the tasting rooms and stay dry, and Route 25 and the back roads out east are not where you want to be guessing on that. Book the day, and everyone in the group actually gets to enjoy the North Fork.

Long Beach Arts and Crafts Festival — Long Beach Boardwalk

Sunday, July 12, 10 AM–6 PM | Allegria Hotel & boardwalk, Long Beach

The July Arts and Crafts Festival runs along the Long Beach boardwalk by the Allegria Hotel on Sunday, a nearly 40-year tradition with roughly 200 vendors selling handmade work, art, and gifts with the ocean right there. Pair it with a walk on the boardwalk and lunch in town and it is a full, easy Sunday on the South Shore.

Long Beach in July is a parking headache and everyone who has driven down there in summer knows it. The city lots and the metered streets fill by late morning, the barrier-island access points bottleneck, and you can spend a real chunk of the afternoon circling for a spot near the boardwalk. A drop right at the boardwalk lets you start the day at the festival instead of the parking meter, and your driver brings you back to Garden City, Rockville Centre, or wherever home is when you have had enough sun.

Clamshell Foundation Fireworks over Three Mile Harbor — East Hampton

Saturday, July 11, around 9 PM (rain date July 12) | Three Mile Harbor, East Hampton

Out in the Hamptons, the Clamshell Foundation puts on its fireworks over Three Mile Harbor on Saturday night, a nearly five-decade East Hampton tradition that draws boats, beach blankets, and a big local crowd to the water. It is one of the signature nights of the East End summer, and the harbor setting makes it.

The trouble is the same thing that makes the Hamptons the Hamptons in July. The roads out east are jammed, parking near the harbor is scarce and tightly managed on a fireworks night, and the drive home on the Montauk Highway and Sunrise Highway after the show is the part of the evening nobody looks forward to. If you are heading out for the night or already staying in the area, a car service handles the harbor drop and the ride back so the fireworks are the memory, not the traffic. We run the East End all season and we plan the pickup around the way the harbor roads actually clear out.

One Call Handles the Whole Weekend

Whether it is Weird Al at UBS Arena, the Empire State Fair in Uniondale, the sunflower fields and wineries on the North Fork, the Long Beach boardwalk, or fireworks over Three Mile Harbor, the common thread is the same. The event is the easy part. Getting there and back is where a Long Island summer weekend goes sideways, especially with a UBS Arena lot to escape or the Montauk Highway to survive on the way home.

We have run these roads for 20 years, from the Belmont Park approach to the North Fork back roads to the barrier island in Long Beach, and we plan the drop and pickup around the way each spot actually fills and empties. We cover all of Nassau and Suffolk, the Hamptons, and the North Fork, and if your weekend also includes a flight we handle the JFK and LGA runs too. See our Long Island car service details, or request a quote and we will take care of the rest. The car will be there.
