Best Things To Do in NYC This Weekend — July 25–26, 2026

July 24, 2026Rafi

It's peak summer in the city, and this is one of those weekends where the calendar is stacked in every borough. The Dodgers are in Queens for a marquee series at Citi Field, Bon Jovi closes out a long Madison Square Garden run on Sunday night, NYCFC hosts a home match in the Bronx, and the streets themselves shut down to cars for the first Summer Streets Saturday of the year. Add Restaurant Week and a heat-of-summer crowd flying in and out of JFK, LGA, and EWR, and you've got a weekend where the events are great and the getting-there is the problem. Here's what's worth the trip from Nassau or Suffolk this weekend, and how to make the trip in and the trip home the easy part.

Dodgers vs. Mets at Citi Field

The headline sports draw this weekend is the Los Angeles Dodgers back at Citi Field to face the Mets, with a Saturday night game July 25 at 7:15 p.m. and a Sunday matinee July 26 at 1:40 p.m. A Dodgers series in Queens in late July, with both clubs chasing October, fills the ballpark and turns Flushing into one of the busiest corners of the city on a summer weekend.

Citi Field is one of the closer NYC venues for Long Islanders, which is exactly why the parking situation catches people off guard. The lots are stadium-priced, they back up badly on the way in, and after the final out you're sitting in the exit crawl with 35,000 other people. For a group, a car service often pencils out close to even once you add up parking, and you get dropped right at the Jackie Robinson Rotunda instead of hiking in from a far lot. It's also the smarter call if anyone in your group plans to enjoy a few innings with a beer in hand and doesn't want to drive the LIE home afterward.

Bon Jovi's Forever Tour Finale at Madison Square Garden

Sunday, July 26, Bon Jovi caps off a long summer residency at Madison Square Garden with a 7:30 p.m. show, the last of a run that's had The Garden packed all month. A Jersey band closing out a New York residency pulls a huge, dressed-up crowd from all over the tri-state area, and Long Island turns out heavy for this one.

Getting to MSG by car on a Sunday night sounds simple until you're circling the blocks around Penn Station looking for a garage that isn't full or charging concert-night rates. A car service drops you at the door on Seventh Avenue and is waiting at a spot you set ahead of time when the encore ends, instead of you walking to a lot and inching out into Midtown traffic with the whole arena. If you're making a night of it with dinner first, a car makes the restaurant-to-show-to-home part one smooth line instead of three parking headaches.

NYCFC vs. Real Salt Lake at Yankee Stadium

Saturday, July 25 at 8:00 p.m., NYCFC hosts a home match at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. Soccer under the lights at Yankee Stadium has its own energy, and in a summer where the World Cup just put the whole region in a soccer mood, a Saturday-night match is an easy sell for families and groups.

Here's the reality for anyone driving up from the Island: the Major Deegan and the Cross Bronx back up long before kickoff, stadium-area parking sells out and spikes in price, and the post-match exit is slow no matter how you cut it. A car drops you right at the gate, and your driver handles the wait so you're not the one navigating the Bronx at 10:30 p.m. after the final whistle. For a group heading up for the night, that beats the garage math and the lot crawl every time.

NYC Summer Streets

For a free, no-ticket way to spend a Saturday, NYC Summer Streets kicks off July 25 with car-free stretches opening up across the boroughs, including Vernon Boulevard in Long Island City, Queens, and Broadway on Staten Island. The city turns miles of pavement into open space for walking, biking, and pop-up activities, and it's one of the best low-key summer days New York offers, genuinely built for families.

The irony of a car-free event is that you still have to get there, and the neighborhoods around the route are where street parking is hardest to find on a Saturday. A drop-off near the Long Island City section lets you start the morning without the hour of circling first, and your driver brings you back to Garden City or Huntington whenever the kids are done. No meters, no garage, no walking a mile back to where you left the car.

NYC Restaurant Week: Summer Edition

Running now through August 16, the Summer Edition of NYC Restaurant Week puts prix fixe menus on the table at hundreds of restaurants across all five boroughs. It's the reliable reason to plan a dinner in the city this weekend, whether you're pairing it with a game, a show, or just making the trip in for a good meal.

The thing about a nice dinner in Manhattan is that the last thing you want after it is to go find your car in a garage and drive the Midtown Tunnel home. This is where a car service earns its keep on a smaller scale than a stadium night: you get dropped at the door, you have the wine, and the ride back to the Island is somebody else's job. For couples and small groups, a night out in the city without the drive home is the whole point.

MoMA PS1 Warm Up in Long Island City

If you want something with a little more energy, MoMA PS1's Warm Up series turns the museum's Long Island City courtyard into an outdoor dancefloor with DJ sets and live performances, running Friday into the weekend. It's a short hop from the Queens–Nassau line and one of the more distinctive summer nights the city puts on, drawing a younger crowd that comes in from all over.

Long Island City is close, but it's also a parking maze once an event lets out, and the streets around PS1 fill fast on a Warm Up night. A car drop-off at the door means you skip the hunt entirely, and a known driver on the ride home is the right call for a late night out. For a group coming in from western Nassau, it's barely a trip, and the ride back beats figuring out the 7 train after midnight.

Why a Car Service Makes Sense This Weekend

Every event on this list shares the same two problems: getting there through July traffic, and a trip home that's worse than the trip in. Citi Field lots emptying after a Dodgers game, the MSG blocks after Bon Jovi, the Bronx after an NYCFC match, Long Island City after Warm Up. And behind all of it, late July keeps JFK, LGA, and EWR running hot with summer travelers and Hamptons-bound crowds, which spills onto every bridge and parkway you'd take into the city. None of that is the part of your weekend you'll remember fondly.

We're a Long Island chauffeur service, not a rideshare. Your driver is assigned ahead of time, knows the routes across all three boroughs, and is tracking your timing so the car is there when you walk out. If you've got family flying in for the weekend, we track the flights and handle the JFK airport pickup so nobody's stuck waiting at the curb. One call or text and it's handled. You shouldn't have to think about the logistics of a Saturday in the city.

Whether it's a ballgame in Queens, an arena show at The Garden, or a dinner in Manhattan, request a quote and we'll take the driving off your plate this weekend. See our NYC event transportation page for how we handle the big nights.
